What you can ask me
- Is this distributor the right partner for us?
- What did this hospital buy in the last three years, from whom, and at what price?
- How does a dental practice in Cluj choose its implant supplier?
- What does our distributor need to sell our device legally?
- How long does a county hospital really take to pay?
- Is Romania worth entering for our product, and how?
Why companies contact me
Four situations bring most questions about Romania.
You are choosing a distributor, or doubting the one you have.
Under the EU Medical Device Regulation (Article 14), your distributor must check CE marking, the declaration of conformity and the UDI before it sells your device, and keep a register of complaints and recalls. I check who the distributor is, who owns it, what it really sells, and whether it does that work.
Your compliance team needs third-party due diligence.
Irish law makes a company liable for bribery by its agents unless it took all reasonable steps and exercised all due diligence (Corruption Offences Act 2018, section 18). The UK Bribery Act and the US FCPA follow the same logic. Romania scored 45 out of 100 in the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index, among the lowest in the EU. A Company Report gives your file documented evidence on ownership, public contracts, litigation and reputation. It is not legal advice.
You sell to public hospitals and need to know when you will be paid.
The legal limit is 60 days (Law 72/2013). Practice differs by hospital and by year: in September 2025 Romania's health minister put the national insurance fund's unpaid amounts to pharmacies, hospitals and sick-leave payments at almost RON 11 billion. A Hospital & Buyer Profile shows how a specific hospital pays.
You want to win the next public tender.
Public hospital tenders are published in SICAP and, above EU thresholds, in TED. Most are won through local distributors. I show what a hospital bought in the last three years, from whom and at what price, before the next tender opens.
